The 7th MICN Conference

Registration is now open at www.regonline.com/micn2010. The early bird cost is USD225 for the conference, plus accommodations, and your travel to and from Kuala Lumpur. Regular registration is USD250 starting April 1 and USD275 on site. So start working on your flight arrangements and be sure to register before April 1.

Flights

Plan to arrive in Penang the evening of 25 April or the morning of 26 April. The week will finish with lunch on Friday, May 1, so please plan to leave after that -- or stay on for a holiday in Penang or KL. www.AirAsia.com has cheap flights from many Asian cities directly to Penang. Check out their site for prices!

Coming Early or Staying On

You are welcome to come a few days early or stay a few days more at the same nightly rate, including breakfast. Just reserve your extra nights during registration, or inform the hotel after you arrive that you want to stay on.

Getting from the Airport to the Hotel

You are responsible for your own transportation from whichever of the two airports you use. You can change money first inside the airport or use one of the ATMs. Prices there are fixed by the airport authority. (Don't go with “freelance” drivers who offer you a taxi; they're illegal and sometimes overcharge.)

Hotel and Conference Location

We've been able to get a good deal with the Paradise Sandy Beach Resort, right on the beach front of Penang Island. Rooms must be booked online through our MICN registration page. We strongly urge each participant to stay at the hotel to maximize relationship-building and networking. The room rate is $50 per room, whether it has one or two occupants! This is a great deal if you're willing to share a room.

Registration

Register today at www.regonline.com/micn2010. Please note: Payment for the rooms and room charges are separate and paid directly to the hotel when checking out. The conference fee is for three dinners, tea breaks, Wednesday 39;s cultural event, use of function rooms, and conference materials.

Staying outside the hotel

If a participant wishes to stay outside the hotel, then he or she need only pay the r egistration fee. But MICN encourages staying in the hotel for greater fellowship and networking.

Refunds

You may cancel before 1 April 2010 and receive an 80% refund of your conference fee. After 1 April the room reservation is considered guaranteed and if canceled, one night's stay will be charged to your credit card. After 14 April 2006 only a 50% refund can be given on the conference fee, and one night's stay will be charged. These amounts are linked to dates and non-refundablecharges that MICN pays related to your registration. All refunds will be credited to the credit card number used for your registration.

Visa for Malaysia

Most nationalities can receive a free 30-, 60-, or 90-day tourist visa stamp upon arrival. Please check this travel site if you are not sure.

Tues, 27 April: Sessions all day; Dinner and evening off

Wed, 28 April: Morning session, afternoon field trip and cultural experience, dinner included

Thurs, 29 April: Sessions all day; Dinner with communion included.
