PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: The Associate Pastor is to assist in the ministry of spiritual shepherding (I Peter 5:2) in support of and under the authority and direction of the Senior Pastor and Church Leadership with an emphasis on Children and Youth ministries.

Qualifications:

  1. Consistent and recognized spiritual maturity along with the characteristics described in I Timothy 3:1-7.
  2. At least 2 years of ministry experience (paid or unpaid).
  3. A graduate from a Bible believing seminary preferred.

Reporting:

  1. To the Senior Pastor

General Areas of Responsibility:

  1. Assist the Senior Pastor in fulfilling his role as the primary spiritual leader, vision caster, pastor, and teacher of the church.
  2. Be responsible for the shepherding, caring, and spiritual feeding the youth of TEF.
  3. Work with Children Ministry Director(s) for the shepherding, caring, and spiritual feeding of the children.
  4. Preach at least once per month during TEF worship service.
  5. Participate in leading the church services as required.
  6. Monitor the church ministries and alert the Senior Pastor of any areas of concern.
  7. Develop educational and training materials as agreed upon with Senior Pastor.
  8. Provide counseling and referral to those in need.
  9. Other duties as required.

Focus:
Provide support and organizational oversight for the Children and Youth Ministries. Cultivate a regional community impact, while being vitally connected and integrated with the larger TEF body

  1. Help develop a vision and holistic strategy for ministering to the broadest number of Children and Youth ministries within the context of the wider TEF vision and mission.
  2. Help with the recruitment, oversight, direction, and encouragement of volunteer for Children and Youth ministries.
  3. Serve as the primary teacher, visionary, and communicator for youth ministries.
  4. Develop a program for discipleship, mentoring (life-on-life) and prayer involving mature youth.
  5. Communicate directly with parents on the progress of youth ministry.
  6. Assist in the coordination of the Youth Retreat and related events.
  7. Develop and monitor financial budget for the youth ministry.
  8. To be networked with other pastors and like-minded ministries to impact the kingdom beyond our local community.
  9. Assist in the coordination of the TEF events.
