YouthCompass
Stewarding the Diaspora ~ Globally minded youth serving local communities
One of the realities that many of international churches face is that the move to a different country and culture often involves whole families. And while many local international churches are designed to deal with the cross-cultural needs and realities of the adults in their church, often they are not sure how to or are simply not equipped to deal with the unique needs of the children and youth between 12-19 years of age (and their families) in their church as they struggle with being “third culture kids”
YouthCompass is a cross-cultural community program of YFC International which addresses the unique needs of mobile teens by providing caring adult role models who come alongside and assist them in navigating life. Through regular events, open dialogue, and service projects, they give students a place to belong and opportunities to grow.
Youthcompass empowers youth workers, teachers, student leaders and parents with training and dialogue to raise awareness and amplify the teen voice.
They provide monthly calls for teens to connect and understanding mentors to walk with them through their life challenges. Our primary contact, who understands the unique needs of IC kids is Marilyn Rendle, Executive Director, YouthCompas International.
